About the Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Sengunthar arts and science college was established in the year 1991. The department has a rich tradition in teaching and works primarily on imparting the students with knowledge & skills in Electronics. The research interests of the faculty members of the department involve the wide area of applied and fundamental aspects of Electronics.

            The department has excellent infrastructure including laboratories to facilitate the graduates with latest trends and to give learning, a practical dimension. The curriculum is designed to acquire expertise in embedded system and provide practical exposure on the same. The department has always been on a progressive path. The experienced and dedicated faculty members, who have a strong commitment towards providing quality education, help to produce globally, competitive and socially sensitized graduates and to bring out quality research in the frontier areas of Electronics. The graduates are trained skillfully and are motivated to express their creativity through our annual electronics mobile servicing conducted once every academic year.

            Department of Electronics and Communication Over the past two decades, Electronics & Communication field  has played a key role in developing the quality of human life and also contributed to the economic growth of our Nation and the World at large. The main aim of the department is to impart strong theoretical as well as and practical knowledge in the domains of basic electronics as well as advanced fields of  Embedded system, Automotive Electronics and Hardware & Networking. Plenty of learning opportunities in broad areas of Communication; ranging from classical fields of Satellite, Wireless, Optical & Data Communication to the latest field of Unified Communication are provided through well-equipped labs and facilities. The department supports the students to get more hands-on training in self-design, implementation of circuits and projects.

                    Our Analog & Digital Electronics lab, Communication Systems lab and embedded lab are currently equipped with modern equipments. The department is equipped with a variety of demo kits to study the working of modern equipments. Students are provided with electronic toolboxes that contain Basic components, Breadboard, Digital Multimeter, ICs etc. free of cost. The department encourages students to carry out innovative projects to match the needs of the technical education system, the industry and our society.

Lab Facilities

            The Department of Electronics and Communication provides well Air conditioner laboratory to undergraduate students. This laboratory is fully equipped with modern Electronics equipments likes such as Cathode Ray Oscilloscope, Audio Frequency Oscillator, Dual power supply, Microprocessor (8085, 8086, ARM), Microcontroller, VLSI, Embedded trainer kits and simulation softwares (ORCAD, PSPICE) also separate lab to learn about Computer hardware and networking. In addition to that, the internet facility also available to enrich student knowledge.
