 ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

            The department of Physics established in 2004, at Segunthar arts and science college aims at imparting quality education in physics. Physics is one of the fields of knowledge that underlies physical universe and applies constantly to people everyday lives. Studying physics develops scientific temper and encourages students to innovate in diverse research and technical areas. Physics is the basic science that underlies all of the physical science and influence most of the biological sciences. It treats matter, energy and interaction at the fundamental level.

                   With an increasingly knowledge based economy and the continuing need for qualified man power in basic sciences in general and physics in particular, there is an umbrella of opportunities for physics graduates. This programmes provides an excellent backgrounds for a wide verity of carriers in science, Science related and technological fields. With a team of dedicated faculty and substantial infrastructural facilities we march towards excellence.

Dear Students and Parents! Warm welcome you to the department of Physics. Physics is the beautiful tool to understand the characteristics of nature and properties of materials. The department is the common platform to both science and technology. The faculties of the department are qualified, well experienced, competent and possessing a strong passion to teaching and research. The department works with the objective to face critical challenges of the industries and needs of the growing society.

 LAB FACILITIES

             The department is maintained a well equipped undergraduatet laboratories and a dark room. Physics lab is well accoutred with all the facilities, which a student need through his / her academic year. Lab is open throughout the college hours, which makes it easy for student to access it anytime. In addition, there is an internet facility, which can be made best by the student when they are in need to gain more knowledge as well as the laboratory is highly benefited for the pupil’s projects.
